What is Google Stadia? How Does It Work?

Google Stadia

Google has revealed the key details that were conspicuously missing from its March announcement of the new Google Stadia game streaming service. On Tuesday, November 19th, Google will launch a cloud service i.e Google Stadia that truly lets you play big-budget games without discs or downloads, consoles or gaming PCs.

Google Stadia statement:- The future of gaming is not a box.

What is Google Stadia

Google Stadia is an upcoming cloud gaming service operated by Google. Stadia is  capable of streaming video games up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with support for high-dynamic-range, to players via the company’s numerous data centers across the globe, provided they are using a sufficiently high-speed Internet connection.

How does Google Stadia work?

As Stadia is a cloud gaming service, you don’t have to download it on your system,as it is on Google’s cloud servers. This concept is a lot like a YouTube video, except it’s interactive.

Is Google Stadia free?

Yes, Google Stadia will be available for free, albeit with only some of its features. The company will offer Stadia Base, a 1080p 60FPS service tier with stereo sound. Stadia Base players won’t have access to Stadia’s free game releases.

Want all the features? You must pay for Stadia Pro.

Is Google Stadia a console?

Not in the traditional sense. You won’t have a box in your home that runs the game. Instead, games run on Google’s cloud servers, which beam the game to wherever you’re playing.

You can’t wave goodbye to hardware entirely, however. At launch, you’ll only be able to play Stadia on your television if you have a Chromecast Ultra or you connect a computer and play through the Chrome browser. A controller (or keyboard and mouse, if you’re on PC) is needed, though you don’t have to buy and use a Stadia controller specifically.
