There are two options first if you are just a member of a group, then you can leave the group yourself. But still, the group exists. But you can delete WhatsApp group if you are the admin of that group.

- Open WhatsApp and go to Group you want to delete.
- Tap on the group Title/Topic as shown below.
- Tap the Participant to remove from the group.
- Click Confirm.
- Select Leave Group next to your name once you’ve removed the other members.
- Click Leave and Delete.

If you are just a member then you have only one option to leave the group.
And if you are the admin still there only one option to leave the group, but you can remove members before leaving.
Instead to delete WhatsApp group you can mute that group for a particular time.

So the answer is no, it is not possible to delete a group without leaving it. Since the delete option isn’t available by default, you need to leave the group first to get the delete button. Only once you exit the group, its deletion is possible.
WhatsApp should add the option to delete the group only to admin. And only to that group which has only one admin or to take permission from all admins to delete the group.
How to clear/ delete WhatsApp Group Chat
- Open the particular group of which you to delete/ clear chat.
- Tap on the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
- Select more> Clear chat.
- Press clear.
Similarly, you can Export chat by tapping the More>Export chat
