What Is Safe Mode in Windows 10?
What Is Safe Mode in Windows 10?: Microsoft’s official help documents explain the Safe Mode in Windows 10. In a nutshell, the process involves rebooting your PC and installing the latest drivers and Windows Update.
“Once you go into Safe Mode, you can run diagnostics to help troubleshoot errors with your computer,” Microsoft’s help documentation states. “Sometimes, these diagnostics will fix issues with your PC. Other times, your PC will be updated with the latest drivers and Windows Update to resolve any outstanding problems. Safe Mode won’t let you download or install new drivers, however. If you need to update your drivers, it’s a good idea to run the Windows Update driver update procedure.”
It’s important to point out that, since Safe Mode is just a low-level environment, it’s not meant to be a repair-as-you-go method. That’s why Microsoft asks users to reboot and load the Windows Defender app, rather than doing any actual repair work.
Using Safe Mode may be a good idea, as it can give you a temporary fix for a system-wide issue. A full repair may be needed to get your PC back into full working order.
If you’re having problems with your Internet browser, the first thing to check is your anti-virus program. Windows 10 might be tracking you without your knowledge, and not necessarily for security purposes. Many times, anti-virus software has little to do with your PC at all, and has been hijacked to spy on you. If you do find that your anti-virus software has been hijacked, you might be able to restore it with a few simple steps.
There are several techniques you can try. One involves using another anti-virus program instead of the default one, while another involves deleting your anti-virus program entirely. Your anti-virus program can be really annoying to set up and maintain, especially if you’re installing it on new PCs. If you’re having some anti-virus issues, consider trying another solution for now, while you track down the source of the problem.
Internet Explorer Troubleshooting
If your computer refuses to start properly on Windows 10, one of the first things to check is your web browser. Most browsers require a user’s trust before they can access the Internet. If a browser (like Google Chrome or Internet Explorer) doesn’t work as it should, there may be a virus or a vulnerability affecting the operating system. The most obvious way to fix Internet Explorer is to re-install it, but that’s only half the issue.
