Telegram Added Some Features Like Search Filters, Anonymous Admins and Channel Comments
Telegram rolls out with some new interesting features update. The updates include features like categorized search filters, comment sections for channels, anonymous admins, and more.
Search Filters
From now on, you can filter search results by type using the new tabs: Media, Links, Files, and others. Search Filters now has six categories- Chats, Media, Links, File, Video, and Voice messages. To search for a particular time period, just type “August 30” or “Yesterday”. Typing the name of any person, group, channel or bot will add a filter by source. This will display a particular message on that day by the person.
Anonymous Group Admins
The privacy-focused nature of Telegram has made it a valuable tool for protestors around the world. The messenger is often used as the primary means of communication for organizing protests for democracy and freedom, and Telegram is now adding another layer of protection for people who organize such protests.
The feature is already available for Channels and now will turn even admins to anonymous in Groups while sending messages. Also, the messages they send will now be under the Group name tag.
Comments for Channels
Next, Telegram has brought a new comment section inside the Channels. A comment button will appear on the messages posted on the Channels. Users can post GIF, voice messages, stickers, and more as a comment to that post. Also, Telegram says that admins can control the comments of the channel to maintain the courtesy.
Even if a person is not a member of the channel’s discussion group, they will be notified about replies on their comments via a new chat called Replies. To enable discussions in your own channel, head to Channel Settings > Discussion.
Amazing Android Additions
Our Android wizards didn’t forget to pack some new smooth animations. To get a taste, try expanding or hiding your keyboard – or switching between your day and night themes from the left menu. You will also see animated popups when deleting messages, changing notifications, saving media, etc.
In case you’re more into practical things, press and hold on any profile picture in a group chat to take a closer look. And if you’re using multiple accounts in one app, you can now preview the chat lists of your other accounts using the same gesture in the account switcher.
Animated pop-ups and new emojis
The update also includes animated pop-ups. This feature is limited to Android and shows revamped animations when users delete messages, save media, change notification, etc. In addition to new animated emojis, the update brings features like long-press on a profile picture to view closer and do the same on account switcher to preview chat lists.
