Micromax Comeback With IN-Series Will Be Launch Soon
On Friday, Micromax’s co-founder Rahul Sharma announced on Twitter through a video that the Indian manufacturer is planning to launch a new line-up of smartphones under the series ‘IN’.
Sharma in the video shared the company’s journey, which was put to a stop after the entry of Chinese smartphone manufacturers in the Indian market.
Unfortunately, Micromax which used to be India’s top mobile brand was left far behind in the stiff competition against Chinese mobile manufacturers like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo since 2016 when they failed to launch 4G phones at affordable prices. Micromax, which in 2014 was the number 2 smartphone maker in India, was wiped out of the market by the Chinese brands.
Micromax will be keeping it simple this time and all-Indian. With the current government initiatives to boost manufacturing, Micromax In phones will counter the cheaper imports from China. It lost the majority of its market share since then, and the newer brands from China went on to become the new leaders with value for money mobiles at cut-throat pricing.
Micromax Comeback Strategy:
However, after the government’s call for an “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India), the company has now decided to make a comeback with its “In” range of smartphones. Details about the first Micromax smartphone under the “In” branding are currently unknown. Sharma also did not reveal the estimated launch date of the smartphone in India.
Micromax ‘In’ mobiles may launch by the end of 2021. The company also confirmed that it’s all set to invest Rs 500 crore in expanding local manufacturing and research and development (R&D) operations. The Micromax comeback plan includes a huge plan to make everything happen in the country and Indianize the smartphone market.
Micromax ‘In’ Specs Rumors
The publication went on to reveal various specs of these devices hinting that the first phone can come bundled with MediaTek Helio G35 chipset along with a 6.5-inches HD+ display. Further, the page also reveals that the phones have a power of 5,000 mAh battery as well.
On the camera front, the 2GB variant is speculated to come with a dual rear camera setup with 13MP and 2MP cameras along with an 8MP selfie camera at the front. On the other hand, the 3GB variant is said to be paired with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP primary camera, 5MP secondary camera, and 2MP sensor. Besides that, this variant could adorn a 13MP selfie camera in the front.
Although the names of these devices are yet to be revealed, many rumors that are rife, suggest that the first phone may be priced at Rs.7,000 while the second phone might get a price tag of Rs.15,000 in India.
